The basic's can be found in: "help".

Poetry Learning Center

Hello,
each visit to this page I will provide you with some new information to teach you a little more about poetry. Let us start off with a definition of a poetry type.

Types of Poetry

Definition of Enjambment:

The word Enjambment comes from the French word for "to straddle". Enjambment is the
continuation of a sentence form one line or couplet into the next. An example by Joyce Kilmer 1886–1918 in his poem "Trees" is:

I think that I shall never see A poem as lovely as a tree

When writing poetry you should listen to criticism, and try to learn from it, but don't live or die by it. A trait of writing poetry is use memory.

A common term used in poetry is:

masculine rhyme
A rhyme that occurs in a final stressed syllable: cat/hat, desire/fire, observe/deserve.
